“To every emotional state corresponds a personal conditioned pattern of muscular contraction without which it has no existence.” -Moshe Feldenkrais, Body and Mature Behavior: A Study of Anxiety, Sex, Gravitation and Learning, p. 128

The Potent Self: Meeting Life with Choice
“What is important is that you get the person to love himself, not just like himself. If you achieve that you are worth your weight in diamonds. If you take a person who hates himself, has no confidence, and make him feel that he can love himself. He feels he can begin to rely on his own self and begins to have self-confidence to stand on his feet. “ -Moshe Feldenkrais
What Supports You to Move Your Vision?
It was quite a journey this last month. I created something bigger than I expected: Move Your Vision 2018 was a grand experiment that involved over 900 human beings!
What supports you to move your vision, to evolve, grow and mature? What helps you connect the dots between your physical self & your thoughts/ feelings/ ideas/ creative impulses? We will continue to explore these questions this year in Movement & Creativity Library.
Shifts in my practice
I am seeing that Organic Intelligence is the place I want to begin working with new clients. Then the Feldenkrais Functional Integration comes naturally when the time is right. This has been particularly effective for people who feel stuck, blocked creatively or who are wanting to be more in their bodies but find they spend a lot of time in their heads.
The work is also helpful for moving beyond stress/ anxiety/ trauma---and the beautiful thing is, the focus is not on the trauma, or the what's-wrong-attention.
“Treat the person, not the body.”
Mind/ Body/ Environment
“Most people will agree that the body and the mind are two aspects of the same thing, or two poles of the same entity, but they still cannot appreciate that there is no mind without environment…”-Moshe Feldenkrais. Chapter 17 from Feldenkrais Illustrated: The Art of Learning.

"The principle of organization is built into nature. Chaos is self-organizing. Out of primordial disorder, stars find their orbits; rivers make their way to the sea...The same miracles are happening in our heads (and bodies) day by day, minute by minute." -Steven Pressfeild
I added "and bodies" in the quote above because that is my experience.
